Information currently collected

The current public site may process the following information through the contact form:

  • Name.
  • Email address.
  • Enquiry type.
  • Optional company or project name.
  • Message content.
  • A technical submission identifier generated by the form.
  • Limited technical request and outcome information needed for validation, abuse handling, and operation.

Do not submit passwords, credentials, private customer data, financial details, health information, confidential material, or sensitive personal information.

Why enquiry information is used

Information submitted through the contact form is intended to be reviewed by Oddmatter so the enquiry can be assessed and, where appropriate, answered. It may also be used to prevent misuse and operate the contact route.

Submitting an enquiry does not create a contract, engagement, support relationship, or availability promise. The lawful-basis wording below remains draft pending final review.

Lawful basis draft

The lawful basis depends on the nature of the enquiry. Where someone asks about possible work, a quote, or a next step before a contract exists, processing may be necessary to take steps at that person's request before entering into a contract.

Broader partnership, studio, project, and general enquiries may be handled on the basis of legitimate interests: receiving and evaluating relevant enquiries, responding where appropriate, operating the contact route, preventing misuse, and investigating delivery or security problems.

The contact route is not a marketing-list signup. Do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential material, passwords, credentials, private customer data, financial details, or health information.

Service providers and sharing

The website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may process hosting, runtime, deployment, request, and security-related information needed to operate the public website.

A transactional email provider may be used later to deliver enquiries submitted through the contact form, but real automated form delivery is not yet enabled or approved. The current public website does not offer user accounts, attachments, mailing-list signup, analytics, advertising, or customer-management features.

Marketing and mailing lists

The current contact form does not collect mailing-list consent and should not be used to add people to marketing lists. Any future newsletter, marketing list, or campaign tooling would require separate review and updated privacy/cookie wording.

Retention

Enquiry information is normally retained for up to 12 months after the last meaningful communication. Information may be kept for longer where an enquiry results in an ongoing business relationship, or where retention is necessary for legal, contractual, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes.

Rights and complaints

Privacy and data protection requests can be sent to privacy@oddmatter.co.uk. The final privacy notice will explain applicable rights and request handling in more detail.

If you are in the UK, you may also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. ICO complaint information is available at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Cookies and similar technologies

The current public website does not use analytics, advertising pixels, chat widgets, third-party embeds, or optional tracking tools.

Hosting, security, and browser behavior will be reviewed before this notice is final. If analytics, embedded services, advertising pixels, heatmaps, chat tools, or non-essential cookies are added later, this section will be updated.

Cookie information is currently included on this Privacy page rather than on a separate Cookies page.

Updates

This draft will be updated when service-provider details, enquiry delivery, analytics decisions, cookie behavior, or legal review requirements change.
